As a trainee, you'll be supported through a structured training pathway designed to help you gain hands-on experience while working toward industry-recognised certifications. These include Radiographic Testing (RT), CEDO (Certified Exposure Device Operator), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT). The overall duty of this position is to observe and learn all aspect of the day-to-day NDT activities from the Senior Technician and Field Supervisor in compliance with legislated industry codes, standards and procedures. Under the direct guidance of the Senior Technician, the Trainee Technician supports NDT inspections by assisting in the planning and preparation of the work, supplying and/or holding materials or tools required for the applicable NDT method/s, transports the necessary equipment required to perform the inspections, assists in the setup and tear down of equipment and ensures the work area and equipment is clean.
Due to the nature of this position there will be on-call and overtime requirements as well as some travel.
